New HU suggestions

Im looking into getting a new HU. single din trying to stay under $400 ebay price. I want a SQ HU I don't need any features like bluetooth or ipod. So far the best I think I've found is the pioneer premier deh-980bt. So any info on this HU would be great or suggestions of other HU's.

nice, similar to the one I mentioned except without all the features I don't need. Looks to have all the same features as the one I mentioned as far as sound settings.

Well I went to check out the pioneer today and liked it but the store wanted 440 for it so I told them no, but the guy said to come back tomorrow and talk to the owner to see if I can get it for the price I want. If not ill be ordering it on ebay this weekend if I dont find anything better.

Don't buy from store man =(. I got mine for 275 shipped brand new from ebay. I also got one year warranty on it too. Oh yeah the deck is a 880 right? I love the 880 man. I think it's a little too hyped up though. I just checked out that kenwood kdc-x991 on google and it looks sweet man. I don't know much about it but i'm sure the guy above does.

Yea I know its cheaper online but I break HU's alot so I want the ease of just having to take it down the street to get a new one. Now I wont pay 200 extra for this ease but 50 is worth it to me. I think my HU's might break because of how rough my car is (very tight suspension).

How about an Alpine CDA-7998 I will be taking mine out of my car tomorrow and was going to sell it on eBay. I have everything that it came with (box, packing, user manual, cage) plus a new sealed in the bag wiring harness, unused original remote, and a backup trim plate. Very minimal wear used in my back and forth to work vehicle. I got a new car and I am not putting a system in it.

It has been well cared for and I sent it to United Radio on 11/06 for check-up, clean up and lube. I have a CHA-S604 Ai-Net 6 disc changer with two cartridges and 17ft Ai-Net cable (plug and play). I need to pull it out and get some photos taken yet though.

$400 with the changer sound fair?

880 is a good choice =) Once you see the white illumination on that HU at night blend in with the screen display...you will never want to leave your car. On top of that, you get a nice variety of tweaking to do on that HU.
