detachable in-dash lcd ?

I dont think any company makes one, not that I've seen anyway.

I would love one, but the case to carry the face would be pretty big for a pocket.

I have never seen a detachable face Double Din with a screen.Only thing I can think of is the old "fat face" pioneer's that where DD detachable face.And that was only a cd player.

Um, because the information that has to be sent from the brain to the LCD is to much for 5 pins, or how every conventional cd players work,

Also I think they are just for show more then function and they figure if you can afford one you can afford an alarm.

Plus if they made detachable ones they would have to spend the money researching it and researching all the proper technology for its use.

I would just want a detachable dace plate so i could store it inside my home, or even leave it in the car, just something to deter *** thieves from stealin stuff.

Not to mention how big the face is!It wouldn't be as pratical as a regular single din.I mean the thing would be like 3"x7"and probably 3/4-1in thick.
Is that a DD face in your pocket or are you just happy to see me....

jvc made a 7'' indash that the screen was removeable.. installed one like 2 years ago..

^^Yeah it was detachable but mainly for the rear viewer.IIRC you needed a docking station as well to make it work.
But yeah I guess that is one.But like I said I don't think it was so much ment for security.
