Appreciating the 880PRS...

Well last Tuesday my car was broken into and some asshat(s) jacked my PRS880 out of my car. Need less to say, I replaced my head unit, but this time with a 5900iB unit since I didn't want such a nice head unit tempting anyone for a while.

All I can say is (obviously) the sound quality between the two is quite noticeable and I really miss that **** head unit. Not to say that the 5900 isn't good, because its adequate for my setup, but all the tuning options really aren't there. You can only alter compression with CDs, and the HPF is not adjustable between front and rear speakers , to name a few.

Oh well, rant is over. To all you 880PRS owners out there, appreciate that head unit, and ALWAYS TAKE OFF YOUR FACE PLATE! That is all.

I know what your saying. I recently went from a 6700mp to a 780mp and i could tell right away there were some nice improvements in sound quality. Dont get me wrong the 6700mp was nice and the sq was good but since i installed the 780mp everything is just more crisp and detailed especially vocals.

Thats a shame tho that you got your radio jacked. I feel for ya.

Now how do you know that?? Please explain. Have you seen his setup? Actually the 780 is supposed to be a better sounding head unit than the 6700. 6700 is more of a convenience head unit than SQ. The 780 has higher quality D/A converters than the 6700 so I can see how it would be a better sounding unit.

***** you got jacked. shouldn't have been lazy and left your faceplate on Mine always gets locked in my glovebox. Out of sight out of mind... i hope.

I switched from a 580 to the 880 and the increase in quality was crazy.

I'll be appreciating it even more when my zx350.4 gets here
