help: Alpine 9813

So my friend just installed a 9813 in his car, and his sub control is up all the way. The speakers are a lot louder. The subs aren't really hitting that hard. They were hitting harder with his old pioneer. Does anyone know how to turn the subs up more or if there is a bass control on the 9813?

you will have to also set your built in x-overs in the hu and also play with your eq in the hu also,once you get those et you will notice a big difference, i have the 9815 and I had to play with it and tweak it to get it to sound the way I wanted it to.

I have a 9813 in my second car.

Go through the setup. Press and hold the "f" button near the numbers1-6 buttons.

Make sure the unit is on "normal"... not "hi-fi" or any of that ****, it's the first thing that pops up in the setup menu. Make sure the subwoofer is turned on, and make sure it is on mono. Make sure you have the RCA's plugged into the correct pre-out off the back of the unit.

Now, press and hold the xover settings. Make sure you have it set correctly, the subwoofer is labeled as "low". In general I recommend 80hz with a width of 2.

Now, turn up your volume to loudest listening level. Press the center button and turn it up to 15 on the Sub-W level.

Reset your gains now.

What is your subwoofer/amp/box now?

He has 2 alpine type E, sealed box around 2.5 cubic foot (prefab), and a MTX421D

what? the hi-fi/normal thing has to do with FM reception and has nothing to do with subwoofer output.. leave this on hi-fi for best radio tuning...

2002 and 2003 alpines were notorious for having low subpreouts... only way to help this is to set the gains higher... using MX will also boost the bass a lot, but will make the stereo sound like crap...
