    Alpine F1 Status.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Alpine-CDA-7990-...QQcmdZViewItem

    Denon Flagship. DCT-1

A couple hundred over your $800 budget but ONE hell of a head unit.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/VERY-RARE-DENON-...QQcmdZViewItem

    McIntosh MX-406

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Mcintosh-MX-406-...QQcmdZViewItem

This one is also a GREAT unit that is priced at 1/2 of your allotted budget. $325 for an ADDZEST is pretty much un heard of.

Don't forget the Nakamichi CD-700II and the timeless Alpine 7909

    1995 Oriental Blue BMW 525i 5 Speed
Stock Alpine System Actively Crossed Over & Amped w/CD 6-Disc Changer System with a/d/s 235is comps in front (3-Ways front, 2-Ways rear) sounds really good. All functions are displayed on the dash's check control display module.

Re: what is the best sq hu?

How much processing do you need? Are you running passive comps or active? Do you want digital outputs to go to an external processor?

Just asking what is best isn't going to get you a very good answer. Best for me was a DVA-9860 + PHA-H701 + RUX-C701 and that is right around $700-$1000 total only change I would make would be to get the DVA-9861 if the price were to come down (9860 takes a few seconds to read a disc when you first put it in). I run optical cable back to my processor so my longest RCA cables are less than 2 feet long. There is no detectable noise at all. I have all the processing I need for a 3 way active front stage plus substage.

I looked at the DRZ9255 but the Alpine setup fit my needs much better.

Of the ones listed I would grab the Alpine F1 Status. Sick Head Unit.

Kinda off subject but does the alpine F1 comes with any sort of processing or does it need to hook up to a processor for it to shine?

And if you have the DVA-9860/1 you don't need the RUX-C701.

But yeah...more details are needed before any meaningful recommendations can be made. Such as what processing you require/want/need, etc
