yes you can. I think it's the same Ai-net connection.

Its seemingly ease of use with the ipod is unprecedented, and the SQ should match up. Only thing i am worried about is equalizer options, which i do not think it has.

    Plus its frekin cool looking

    http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=iDA-X001

The manual is posted and there's a video that shows off the 07 line. It looks and controls nice, but I find the lack of EQ and 2V pre-amps....disturbing.

I bought and have installed this unit. Its pretty good so far. Ipod control is ridiculous. Best so far in my opinion. Im still getting everything completely hooked up, I have to run to the store to get longer rca cables for my amp so I can hook up the sub. Then I can give you a better idea of how it sounds with everythign filled out. But so far, I like it alot.

For me this HU could have been a very nice unit to have, the only problem is the continued absence of any real processing abilities from Alpine HU's.....

Yeah. The HU has is lacking majorly in adjustibility. You can only adjust volume, F/R fader, Balance L/R, bass output, and sub volume. But overall after hooking up my sub I'm pretty impressed with sq. Obviously it would sound better with the option of adjusting eq's and such, but I enjoy it and the ipod control is out of this world.

no kidding. lord knows they had the space, as theres no cd slot. They should have at least made it 4v preouts..

That's right..... alot of extra real estate and they did not make use of it....

Re: Alpine iDA-X001 Can you add a cd changer?

Eh, I could always rip out the DEQ7600 out of my old car I sold to my sis, heh. So that'd give me good ipod control, good EQ settings, and crap preouts. Eh, as much as I like to solve problems by throwing money at it, I think I'll try some alternatives with my current system first.
