Question about 3 way crossovers

Well, i been thinking of possibly going active with my cdt 642's for more control. and i have a couple questions

I know that the 3 way crossovers that im looking for are ones with high, mid, low feature, but i wanted to know if the ones that are high, low, sub can work the same?

Do i need ones with specific feature?

I was thinking about the kicker kx3 as my crossover for a 3 way front actuve soung stage? would this work?

Any other crossovers out there for around 110$

all a 3-way xover is is high pass/ bandpass/ low pass

Also, do i need a specific 3 way crossover, or can i use the hpf, lpf for each channel on my sundown amps if i bought another 100.2?

u mean subs as in my mid bass drivers in the doors right?

I dont want my subs being run off the crossover, just 3 way front stage.

High Pass the tweeter on the XM6 and/or the SAX-100.4
High Pass the midrange on the XM6 / Low Pass the midrange on the XM6 and/or the SAX-100.4
Low-Pass the midbass on the SAX-100.4 / Set Subsonic as HPF on the 100.4

do u guys think it would be pointless to get a seperate crossover when i could just use the ones on the 100.4 and when i purchase a 100.2?
