I played with one at my local shop. Very nice head unit. Exact same specs as the 680mp but it comes with the ipod cable, more crossover options, and its a few bucks less expensive. 590ib > 580mp/680mp.

pioneer premier models are almost the same as pioneer models. its like a honda civic hx compared to a honda civic ex. premier have better bells and whistles but are nearly identical to the regualr models.

For the most part yes. But Premier models usually have higher preout voltage and most important, Premier has a 2 year warranty where as non-Premier has only 1.

Ipplay with it everyday at work, and it is pretty cool. Very simple to use and lots of features. Ipod control is quick as ****. I'd buy it if i didn't just buy an 880.
