Yes they are solid, but this is a refurbished head unit. You can spend a little more and get a new x-590. I have no problem spending a little more for peace of mind.

i bet you if i showed you a refurb and a brand new unit you would not be able to tell the difference. Beside if you read the post he is on a budget which means he is trying to cut cost so refurb is the way to go.

Wow $180??? Thats rediculous. As I've stated in many other threads ALREADY. The 2007 line of Pioneer units is easily the best for the $$$. For the same price you can get a Pioneer Premier 590ib with more sound tunability, very high speed ipod cable, and a 2 year warranty. It also looks absolutely ******. Far more cool than my 780mp and that says a ton. If it had the same sound options as the 780mp I would have bought one already.
