hey. i looking for a new HU for around 200.
i want the best SQ for that price that has 3 preset output, ipod and mp3 playback
im looking at three different brand Alpine, Kenwood and Pioneer
Kenwood Excelon KDC-X590
Pioneer DEH-P6800MP
Alpine CDA-9856
im looking at these 3 models. not sure which one is the best. any input would help or other HU you recommend is cool too. thanks in advance

I have seen heaps of disapproval on the 9856 as the onboard processing leaves much to be desired (think - going back to basic treble and bass controls and nothing more)
As I am admittedly a Kenwood fanboi and more specifically of the eXcelon gear the X590 is certainly a worthy option.
I had my first chance to fool with a 6800 the other day and I have to admit it's a nice unit at its pricepoint.
Me? I'd go with the X590

Yes the excelon line is very nice. I love how clean mine is. On the other hand...that pioneer is a dandy for the price. I think you would be happy with either one of those choices.

either the pioneer or the kenwood. My dad has the kenwood for his burban but im having trouble hooking it up cause his cars gay. I have the premier 680 and love it both would be great but the 580 is cheaper

i just order the kenwood 590. i heard so many good remark for kenwood the last few days and decided to choose the kenwood over the pioneer. i was going to upgrade to the x890 but i don't know how you get it at for 200. the cheapest i can find is like 240-250.
well. i'll let you guys how i like the new HU once i install. thanks everyone for their inputs.
