Need Opinions Now -- Buying Tonight

Ok. So I can get the IVA-D310 for ~$925 paid in full or I can get the IVA-W200. THe W200 should be around $800-850.

Which one would you get? I am getting it tonight so I need to decide and go get the cash.

D310 is discontinued. So it's the last one my BBY has.

The D310 is single din, and the W200 is double din.. If you have the space, go for the double din.. I think it looks much cleaner.. Although I must say that I'm happy with my D310.. I haven't heard the W200, so I can't comment on that, but Alpine's quality seems to be going downhill recently, so newer isn't always better.. If I had the space in my dash (or until I make it) I will be going with a double din unit myself, probably the Pioneer Z1..

That's kind of a tough one.

I ech Cyantist, in that if you have double din space, look at that more closely as it will be a cleaner install overall. Also, the w200 utilizes Alpines new "full speed" iPod connection which is way nicer and quicker than the old Aux way that I have and the 310 offers as well.

However, the w200 does not have time correction, eq settings, x-over, and other settings the D310 has. You can buy the H701 Processor (which is what nearly everyone I know has done) for the w200, but that's another $400-500, and since your friend is at BB, he (as far as I know) can't get the processor for cost since they won't carry it in the store.

Also, IMO the flip-out 7" screens look a lot nicer than the w200 6.5" screen.

Bottom line, if you'd have to fab double-din space, DEFINATELY go with the 310. If not, then it's kind of a toss-up, b/c the w200 will look more factory, but I'd still go with the 310 because of the functionality and extra .5" screen size.

EDIT: I just realized it's going in a Civic. I just bought an 06 LX Saturday, and will be putting in my D300 next week.
If I were in your case having the choice of a brand-new unit, I'd look at the w200 really hard.

BBY was out of the W200's and I couldn't use the discount if they ordered one because they were like "we'll ship it to your house" Oh FYI, BBY only had like 20units at their distribution warehouses, so if you are getting one, hurry or get it somewhere else.

So I got the D310. Should be ordering the dash pieces tomorrow and picking up my harness tomorrow. I know the W200 will look cleaner but I will work with this unit to get it to look good as well. Either way, I'm glad I have it.

Considering I paid $923 total for the D310, I'm not complaining.

here's a question for you fellow civic guys - do you have to put the 1din radio on the top slot or can you put the empty slot holder in the top slot?

I'm going to hopefully put in the bottom din. I have to order the dash pieces tomorrow or today. I honestly don't really like the din pocket in the dash. Just my opinion. If I can't put the D310 in the bottom, then I will fabricate something to fit in that din slot like a volt meter or custom logo.
