    Just got a Eclipse CD8455!

    I just got the 5000 which is basically the same and I can identify with what the E-Bay ad said of it being overwhelming with things that can be done. If you and I can master those these things are super sweet!

    heh, i just got a CD-7000 and payed $5 less than you yay for direct from manufacturer!!!

    that said, it still hasnt shipped but should by this thursday or so

    I initially looked at the 7000 but I am a SQ guy and the rep at Eclipse steered me away from it. He said the 5000 is the unit for that. I figured he would try to talk me into the 7000 but he didn't. Go figure.

    weird..the 7000 is undoubtedly the more capable deck , same internals-should sound the same.

    i think i read somewhere they dropped it down to 5v because the 8v was clipping too many amps.

    That was just an assumption made by some, originally myself included. Despite the fact that most current amps can handle it. I was later informed that wasnt the reason, but no more info to say why.
