1) How does the quality sound after converting them? I know most changes are barely audible but I was wondering if it was anything noticable with this.
2) How many tracks can you fit on a normal CD-R by converting the songs to this format?

i dont know the answer to question 2.
How many you can fit on a cd-r once they are in .wav?
About as many as is on a regular store bought CD. Your limit is going to be the size of the cd-r. .Wav files are a lot bigger than mp3's. I would guess 20 songs per disk..but things like song length and possibly bit rate will effect it. I cant remember if .wav's are a set br or not. I think they probably are so no matter what the source mp3's BR is..the wav you make from it will still be about the same size. Correct me if im wrong.
pretty funnay eugy
Almost every burning program will let you drop MP3's into it's "AudioCD" mode. This converts your mp3s to WAV files and gives you a maximum CD length of 80 minutes.
This isn't revolutionary by any meansAlso it's an extra step. Anything like NERO will let you convert on the fly as it burns.
