Error message: CD upside down?

I recently installed a new HU and the turns on and everything, but the error message comes up saying that the CD is upside down. Now...assuming I know how to correctly put in a CD, there must be something else going on. It is a Kenwood KDC-MP528. Need some help...

My Clarion used to do the same thing, I never figured out why. It got so bad that I had to insert the CD 4 or 5 times until it worked right. Sometimes it never worked at all though, very annoying. Never fixed it, just replaced it with an Eclipse. I'd call Kenwood tech support and see what they say.
