i like the pioneer cuz it has a front aux input for my ipod. the kenwood has an aux input jus in the back

Kenwood excelon x789 ! Although I do like pioneer, the 5 volt preout vs 2.2 is no match when you compare these 2 models.

You're actually comparing Kenwoods better line against Pioneer's (NON-Premier) lower line of decks. I will agree the Kenwood is the better choice here but I have to say one thing about this.

If I were you I would save 80 more dollars and get the 890 when it comes in. Which should be soon.

the absolute only thing i favor on the kenwood is the adjustable face angles.

Yo, I just bought the x798. CAN NOT WAIT. I was in the same debate. The pioneer one your looking at is more compareable to the kenwood mp628 which is also closer in price. The excelon model is great. I also have two excelon amps which I can now control my gain digitally from the deck.
