Installed hu and now indash lights and blinkers won't work

I installed a kenwood kdc-mp328 headunit in my 1999 nissan maxima(non-bose) yesturday and now my blinkers and indash lights don't work! What could be the problem? Are blinkers related nto the hazards in any way or did I blow I fuse?

You may have blown a fuse. You may also have forgotten to plug your hazard switch and/or dimmer switch back in when you put the dash back together. Or you may have done both. The blinkers won't work if the hazard switch is unplugged or has a problem.

I'm voting blown fuse due to a short.

I had problems like that when I put my 9835 in, my taillight fuse blew every time I turned the radio on, and then my H/U would shut off everytime I hit the brakes.

Just in unstall it and make sure nothing is grounding anywhere, I couldn't see anything grounding, but 1/4 of a roll of electrical tape later and I can pull my H/U in and out 50 times a day with no issues.

A blown fuse would explain the dash lights, but not the blinkers. There's no wiring connected to the hazard/blinker circuit behind the radio.

Using your dimmer lead for a ground will result in what you describe.

Crimp caps and/or heatshrink on any and all splices behind the head unit FTW! And a few years from now if I am still driving the same vehicle I am now I don't have to worry about the adhesive giving way after being in a few thousand hot/cold cycles in the interior of an automobile through varying seasons.

Look at the radio fuse first. Check the dash illumination fuse as well. Additonally check the fuses under the hood if you have a fusebox there. Auto Zone, Pep Boys, O'Reilly's Auto Parts, whatever you have handy in the way of an automotive parts store would carry automotive fuses. So will Wal-Mart and K-Mart and every grocery store (at least in my part of the world) will have a smallish section with car stuff ~ oil, power steering fluid, etc etc etc and usually in this section you can find fuses as well.

Barring that you might want to look at stones' suggestion:

He's absolutely correct. If you've mistakenly connected the vehicle's illumination lead to the head unit's ground input it could potentially create exactly the phenomena you've described.

Considering your 4-way hazard flashers are your blinkers flashing at the same time instead of one side or the other whatcha reckon?!
A blown fuse is certainly a possibility but presently my money's on stones' comment...
