    Blaupunkt Acapulco mp54

I just got this headunit and hooked it up in my car. I am not getting any sound out of the speakers and it is absolutely driving me nuts with this thing. I have the volume one and the mute off. Any suggestions on the problems. The car is a 98 mustang gt

Alot of newer cars have a factory amplifier running the speakers and require that you use the remote turn on lead from your HU, if you used the proper wiring harness adaptor there should have been some sort of connection for this.

    From "Install doctor.com"- http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/Ford-Wiring.pdf

    Ford “Amplified” Radio Wire Harness
(Ford Premium/JBL/Mach systems that have an amplifier that powers the speakers)
This vehicle uses has a 2 pc wire harness. The black
connector is the input to the vehicles separate amplifer.
The second plug contains all necessary power wires.
DO NOT CUT THE WIRES OF THE BLACK
CONNECTOR OR THE THICK GRAY CABLE
The Install Doctor STRONGLY recommends using a snap on
“integration” wire harness adapter which will safely and easily allow
you to connect a new radio to the existing wires of the Ford amplified
    radio system.
The “integration” wire harness adapter is designed to allow you to
install a new radio into a vehicle with amplifiers in the vehicle without
having to rewire the amplifiers or speakers. The new radio is then
“integrated” into the existing amplifiers and speakers.
“Integration” wire harnesses can be purchased at car audio installation
shops or large retail chains with car audio installation shops.
