I purchased the 5435 on Saturday. I got a question though. How do you turn off the internal amp? I installed it yesterday, and will post a review once I have reset my gains.

A) I don't think you can turn off the internal amp
B) If you can, info on how to do so would be in the manual

ive owned this deck, i dont think their is an internal amp shutoff, but why would you want to??
you cant shut it off nor should you have any reason to. i have this deck as well.

What do you mean "no reason to"??? Why would you want to leave it on radiating heat when you can turn it off if you're not using it.??Originally Posted by bri487

While I believe that if you are not using an internal amp, you might as well turn it off(if possible), the actual amount of heat generated by an internal amp(not being used to power anything) would be very small.Originally Posted by adam71

Touch a CD that comes out of a deck with an internal amp and then touch one that comes out of a deck that can turn it off or a deck that doesn't have an internal amp. I've found there to be a night and day difference between the two.Originally Posted by JLCivic
the deck itself generaltes heat, and the amount created by the internal amp isnt great compared to the heat that is already made by the deck.Originally Posted by adam71

You missed the point. I said the difference in the temp of the cds that came out were night and day so its NOT the deck itself generating that much heat. Its the internal amp that generates MOST of it.Originally Posted by bri487
