Old school Alpine vs. Eclipse 8454 ($185 diffreence)

I have a chance to trade an Alpine 7873 for an Eclipse 8454 for a $185 difference...

Would it be worth it as for SQ and features, both HU's are in like new condition? Everyone's opinion please.........

    Current system:
    -Diamond Audio D7054 & D7401 amps
    -Alpine typr R 6.5" components
    -Alpine type R 12" sub

I'm not familiar with the 7873, but the Eclipse is a very nice unit. It would be hard for any head unit to sound better than the Eclipse.

Well I just got done w/ the deal and the 8454 looks much nicer in person than in the ads. The manual is so thick it must be more like a computer than a HU ! It was a tough choice, I have always liked my Alpine 7873, but feel its time to move up to see what all the "hype" is about....I'll keep everyone posted.
