Is a warrantly worth $60 bucks?

I've found the HU I want. The Kenwood KDC-MP4028.

On Crutchfield, with warranty and all that other snazzy stuff, it's $190 with shipping.

On Ebay, brand new with no warranty, it's $130 with shipping.

    Oh, the decisions...

Re: Is a warrantly worth $60 bucks?

Warranty is nice, but I wouldnt pay $60 for it. If anything goes wrong, thats about the price it would cost to fix it. And dealing with warranties online can be a b*tch

I'd get a warranty on a h/u way before I'd get one on subs...

Yeah, but on Crutchfield they also give you all of the wiring and adapters you'll need. That, plus the warranty, makes it more than worth it IMHO.

Re: Is a warrantly worth $60 bucks?

But for the $190 on Crutchfield, you also get install kit, wiring harness, etc(I believe) plus dirt cheap shipping, PLUS the warranty and lifetime tech support. For $60, I say it is a pretty good deal.

Thats true. If you dont have the wiring harnesses/adapters, go crutchfield all the way

IF a deck dies, I bet the price of repair(and shipping) will be significantly higher than $60, unless you are fortunate enough to have some local repair place who will give you a deal.

Well, I can get the wiring harness and install kit for less than $30 off of Crutchfield if I need it, so...

And the parts aren't cheap Depending on what fails, you could have 3x that "flat rate" just in parts cost.

Just get it from Crutchfield. As everyone else said....much better deal considering all you are getting in return.

Yeah, but when you work part-time earning 5.25/hour and that's your only source of income, price matters.

And what happens 8 months from now when it breaks and you have to spend $200 to get it repaired?? Which will be the cheaper route then?

Re: Is a warrantly worth $60 bucks?

well more than likely you arent going to have any problems. I would buy it off ebay if you have the wiring harness and accessories. If you don't, get it on crutchfield.
