Sony CDX-m9905x vs Alpine 9855

I currently own the Sony. But I find myself wanting something new. Not that I am dissatisfied. But just like to try different things...

Now to any of your knowledge, do you think I would notice a difference in sound??? Would it be worth the money to switch them. I've been reading a lot of negative things about alpine recently. Maybe do to the best buy issue.

So anyone have any input to help me out?

im not trusting the 9855... it has had many complaints about malfunctions and so.... id get the 9835 if i was you

I did not think I would get any responces. It was worth a shot. Not to many people out there with experience in both units.

You should get the alpine just to get the alpine for a change and then start up a few more threads about the unit..

too many people who've never owned, used or even seen a 9855 talkin **** about it and its features need a few more real owners to back it up.

the alpine is just as flashy and gimmichy as the 9905..

do u use an external Eq?? dunno how tunable the 9905 eq is compared to the 9855 eq...

I think it looks like a nice headunit with some nice features. but a lot of people were complaining about problems from the first batch that was released. If you buy off of ebay there is a chance you might get either an already broken one or one that might be from the first batch. If you end up getting it make sure you get the warranty and enjoy it.

dunno how tunable the 9905 eq is compared to the 9855 eq...

The 55 has a 5 band parametric eq, a 7 band graphic or a few simple presets.
I don't know about the 05

I just bought the alpine 9855 today regardless of all the negative feedback from it.I think it's just awesome and got it for 400.00 Canadian

i have the alpine 9855, had it for over 2 months now not a single problem yet(knock on wood) i had the store order it from alpine and i waited so i think i got one after the gliches had been worked out.
still trying to figure all the features out..... but i think it is an excellent deck...
