First of all welcome to the forum. Second of all, what is your budget?? There are alot of good manufacturers of head units that offer HUs in a wide range of prices so a budget would be a good start.

go with pioneer premier 560mp
Pioneer always stands tall in my book.
sadly, not in mine. look nice, but for some reason, i just can choke down the SQ for most of those decks.
X2 on that Excelon,as a 9830 previous owner the Excelon which I use now SMOKED the 9830 in almost every area I can think of so I shipped it back to crutchfeildOriginally Posted by acousticguitar
IMO a 589 or even a 789 would make an excellent HU
plus they are Bichin in lookin
ill have to check on that kenwood, but as far as pickin stuff up at stores do they have those kind? if not what one from best buy or circuit city do you recommend. the only reason i ask about store pickups is because i need to replace mine asap it skips too much and i hate it ( its a sony cdxr3300), thanks for the info by the way![]()
i dunno about smoked. ive heard the midrange kenwoods before and even w/ their nice dacs, id say the alpine sounded nicer.![]()
havent heard the x789 yet tho.
if it doesnt skip and will last then thats what i will take, will pretty much any alpine hu be a good choice ?
ease of use, display, overall lookOriginally Posted by acousticguitar
and SQ was alot tighter = SMOKED![]()
YES... unless you're looking for an HU thats very simple to use (read: "HU's for dummies") like I am currently. If thats the case, I find the really high end Alpines to be unwieldly in usage. But if you care more about good quality sound and fit/finish, i think Alpines are great.![]()
