i got the DEH-P4700MP HU and i was wondering how you change the rear preout to sub? i see on the bottom of the screen it as a SW and a little speaker next to it so iam assuming you can change it to SW somehow? thanks

perhaps you overlooked the sub outputs on the rear of the deck?

With the key on, hold down the "source" button until the unit shuts off. Then hold down the "Func" button. A menu should come up; release the "func" button and press it again until the rear output selector comes up. You should be able to switch it between "subwoofer" and "full".

iam tlaking about old school metallica......though some st.anger songs were good. but i went out to the car and when i hold the funct. down with it off it brings up aux:on/off warn:on/off and clock adjustment. by the way The Jackson 5 ***** cjjackson... jk

Sorry, my mistake. The 4700 does not allow you to switch the rear output to a subwoofer setting. The symbol still appears on your display because the same display is used on other models of Pioneer head units.

ok thanks..but u still can hook up a sub amp to it right?

Sure. You just won't have separate control over the sub volume through the head unit.
