the best SQ decks ever made are all discontinued. most of what is made now lacks SQ and tuning flexibility.
if you aren't wanting to run active with a 3-way capable head unit, then i agree this isn't a HU for you.
if you want modern features like BT with Android or USB support then going new is your best bet.
