Depends on what you have for an alternator

My Silverado under construction with 8 15" Soundrive subs in a 4th order wall powered by four 7k's @ .5 ohms each http://www.caraudio.com/forums/car-audio-build-logs-cars-trucks-suvs/621466-alexs-silverado.html

Whats up man, with that alternator and depending on how underrated the ampere 5k's are, I'd do 2 to 3 Northstar SMSAGM400

A local was running an ampere 7.5k on 2 Northstar SMSAGM400 with a 300 amp alt and would typically hold just under to over 13 volts non stop demoing on music.

Re: Budget Friendly Northstar SMSAGM80 NOW AVAILABLE

I'll be running the 5k at a little bit over .5 ohm so I'm guessing I'll be seeing about 5800-6k per amp

Not after rise. Maybe close to 5k each on music.

All that's means was his ampere 7.5k wasn't even pulling 300a of current.

Re: Budget Friendly Northstar SMSAGM80 NOW AVAILABLE

    LOAD TEST RESULTS
    Youtube video link below
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yndq8QM26Gk
    Northstar SMSAGM80
    Specs, 40 AH
    3.8" x 9" x 10"
    35 lbs

Only loading it down to 11 volts was the target, because when you throw an alternator into the scenario while a car is running/ at charging voltage and amperage you'll be in the mid to high 12s ballpark typically. Will vary based off of the size of the alternator, but regardless, this battery is a beast.
    3) 15 second load tests back to back. in about a 1 minute span of time.
    1st pull, 11.00 volts holding a 450 amps
2nd pull, 10.95 volts holding just over 450 amps
3rd pull 10.84 volts holding right at 500 amps.

not bad for a budget battery.

This battery is the EXACT same build design and technology as the Northstar SMSAGM400, only it is 1/4 the size, and under $200. We worked very hard with Northstar to make this happen and the results are outstanding! Enjoy the video.
