CDT Audio CL-61A 6-1/2" vs Infinity Perfect 6.1 6 1/2" Component Sets

My subject pretty much explains it =]

I'm looking to buy a new set of components for the front and rear slots of my car.

I was looking at either CDT Audio CL-61A 6-1/2" Components, or Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 6-1/2" Component System.

Which do you think puts out a better sound?

That depends rather dramatically on your preference for sound. Both sets are quite capable, but the CDTs, at least with the silk tweets, would provide a much more laid back sound, whereas the Perfect tweets are a bit on the bright side.

So, choose accordingly.

When you say brighter, do you mean that the midbass on the Perfect's is weak, or that the sound is just cleaner ?

i think he means that the tweeters are harsh and will make ur ears hurt after a while...i have the cdt cl-61's and they sound great to me dont know about the perfects tho never heard them

Yeah, i would believe that about the perfects. My friend has the Kappa comps and the tweets are a little harsh for sure.

In your sig it says your Profile amp for the Comp speakers is runnin at 225 RMS x 2... are you sending the full 225 to each woofer/tweeter pair?

i doubt they are actaully gettin 225 x 2 cuz my gains are set real low...

No, I mean the tweeter has a peak in the response around Fs. Soft dome tweeters rarely, if ever, have this problem. I'd probly go with the CDTs with the soft domes.
