Icon10 Phase 2: Finished Install: PICS (56K BEWARE!!!)

Well I'm all done with the install of Phase 2. Just in case you missed out, here is a link to the pics of Phase 1 completed: http://www.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=80735

You can see a complete rundown of my equipment in my signature. This was all installed by yours truly by the way.

Now that I've got Phases 1 & 2 complete, I am going to start researching Phase 3. Phase 3 will consist of high end wire for EVERYTHING (speakers, battery terminals, 4GA to 1GA Power/Ground, new dist. & ground blocks, etc). I'm primarily waiting on Phase 3 until the weather is warm since my truck is a foot too long for the garage. Right now the wiring I have is sufficient for now, since Phase 3 is on the way I didn't take too much time making the wiring pretty. Anyway, I won't make you wait any longer...

This pic is from Phase 1 (video H/U install w/TV tuner):

This is my amp, a Soundstream VGA800.5:

I didn't get pre-install pictures of my components and coaxials, I didnt think of getting pictures until they were already installed. Sorry, trust me though, they are there and they sound sweeeeet.

This is my sub, an Adire Koda 10:

    This is my box:

This is where my amp will go:

    Shots of the beauty:

    Seat reinstalled, cleaning up:

    Lookin good, pleanty of room:

Amp shot, I can still make adjustments easily:

    Seat down, perfect fit:

Thanks to everyone for answering my many questions. I wouldn't have arrived at the great system I now have without you. After setting the amp up and testing everything, IT SOUNDS INCREDIBLE!! I mean, unbelievable!! I never thought I would have a system sound this great. I toned the tweets down 1.5db, set the gains, frequency, H/LPF x-overs, everything is perfect now. I've got unbelievable bass all while maintaining a beautiful level of mid-bass and highs. I love it, I actually do not want to get out of my truck when I arrive somewhere. Movies are incredible too! Toss in Terminator 3 and you feel like you're at the cinema (minus the gigantic screen).

Thanks again everyone, I appreciate the advice!! Feel free to post questions/comments!

Now it's time for a detail job...

    Looks pretty well done man.

How close does the sub get to the floor when under power?

It gets close under high power/volume but doesn't seem to touch the floor at all. If you look in the pic below, the walls that raise the sub up range from 3" to 4", so the sub is a ways from the floor. Not only that, there are high points in the floor from the factory that the walls rest on, I'm not exactly sure what they're for but they give the sub even more room to breathe.

BTW, thanks so much guys for all of your compliments. It was a lot of hard work for one guy. Honestly the weather made it harder than it would be had I done it in the spring/summer. When you cant feel your fingers, it makes life interesting. One night I had a heated garage but the rest of the time I was in my garage where I can't shut the door because my truck is too long. I am going to wait on Phase 3 until the weather is warm.

looks like a smaller version of my current enclosure (kinda), very nice man. Stealth is definitely the way to go if you wanna have your friends wanting to know where the sub is lol.

I got it for $309 at www.onlinecarstereo.com, not a bad price, here's a link to it:
    http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=14471

BTW, thanks for the compliments guys and yes, stealth is definitely the way to go! It's nice to have 800 watts of power at my fingertips and you can't even see the powerplant. One day I'm going to mount my crossovers on the board where the amp is, that'll be a part of Phase 3. The hideaway unit is where it will stay due to all of the wire lengths.

Also, to diplexers, 75-80 degrees?? Holy crap!! Here is what happened on Saturday, not several days, not a week, ONE DAY! Pay special attention to how much snow is in the bed of my truck. 75-80 degrees....:mumbling & cursing:....LOL
