That amp is 1 ohm stable. The only ways you can wire those subs is to either 2 ohms, 0.5 ohms or 8 ohms.

not really, that amp is probably giving your subs what it wants...

    Do your math again.

Try running them with the Hifonics. You should be getting 400-450W RMS @ 14.4V per sub. That is a safe amount of power for the Type R's.

yea but i really want my subs to pound. and cars dont usually run at 14.4v only at high rpms it does. so can i turn my gain up all the way if i run them on a 2ohm load?

No, never ever ever turn your gain up like a volume control. Follow the gain setting tutorial. And they will pound, don't worry about that. If you want louder, make a nicely sized ported enclosure.

Re: need help!!!Alpine Type-r's with HiFonics BX1500D setup

I've got 2 12's 4-ohms running off a JBL. The subs werent designed to deliver "beat the snot out of you bass", there more SQ than anything. If you wanted SPL, you did what I did and bought the wrong subs. Mine are running with 600 RMS and they do fine. As for your 14.4V comment, I have a tsunami RDS system monitoring my system voltage and now that my battery prob is fixxed its never below 14.4 while running.
