What's up guys, looking into a new system

hey im new to the forum, just wanted to introduce myself and my system... (sorry for the really long first post)

My old system in my Camry included a Premier DEH-P740MP, Premier PRS-X720, JL Audio 15W3, Custom Box, Rockford Fosgate Deep Cycle Battery, Rockford .5 farad cap (upgraded to a 1.0 Farad of a different brand).

    Pics:

Then about 3 weeks ago while i was in Memphis after having my system for almost 3 years someone did this:

    (big pics)

    pic one
    pic two
    pic three
    pic four
    pic five
    pic six

they took my ****ing faceplate and even my remote, ********* and it made me so mad, when they RIPPED my amp out they ripped the power connections completely out of the amp so it is useless to everyone, and i ****ing LOVED that amp and now its discontinued

So anyway i got insurance money but im using it to pay off my credit cards haha, but i have bought my new receiver a Pioneer Premier DEH-P860MP awesome so much better than the 740 i had.
So now im looking for some new beats. I am a big JL Audio and Premier fan but i was going to try some different stuff this time around. I really want to try the Premier TS-W2000SPL, probably 2 of them, maybe powered by a Hifonics BX1800D running at 1-ohm, in a personal built custom ported box(s).
Just a few questions though, how is the hifonics amp running at 1-ohm?? does it pull a lot of power(amps) ?? and i have searched a bunch on here and i see a few people running hifonics amps and Premier subs, How do yall like them??
What i want out of my system is mostly lower volume quality, i dont like playing my **** loud all the time, but i want to be able to turn it up and blow Tahoes out of the water

anyway thanks for reading and holla back

Re: What's up guys, looking into a new system

    Welcome to CA.com!

People on here can throw together ideas for a system if you give them a few things

1.) Budget - always want to kno how much money you wanna spend
2.) Space - Possible box space
3.) What you are going for - SQ? SPL? SQL?

I can't really verify this as I haven't used a HiFonics amp before, but from what I've read (other peoples testimonials, reviews, and rants 'n raves) they are pretty good about current. Meaning they dont pull as much current as some class A/B amps that put out 1800+ rms @ 1 ohm.

As for the blowing tahoe's out of the water... you might want to look into something like incriminator audio's LI series (could get mad loud if you got a pair of them but still sound good), adire audio brahma's (get really loud and sounds good), RE XXX (same as brahma). Like I said though with the 3 things I told you to put down, the people on this forum will have an answer for you by the end of the night... Enjoy your stay!

    back at it...

Re: What's up guys, looking into a new system

thanks, really i like sound quality better than mind blowing bass, i like to be able to hear my music and im already deaf anyways from that 15W3 but like i said id like to play it loud to show it off every once in a while (the tahoe bit was just an expression) . Fitting anything in my car wont be a problem, my old custom box took up a lot of space because of the front cover that matched the trunk, and the Premier subs that i was thinking of getting would take up a little less than 4ft^3 in my trunk. Budget would be definately under $1000 for sub(s)/amp/box. But right now im just taking in the options and seeing what everyones reviews on products are. I could go straight JL but that is $$$ and i know there is stuff just as good for less cheese out there.

Well, if you liked the sound of that W3, I'm sure you'd like the sound of a Tempest. Pair that up with a nice sized box and a nice little 2 channel amp that puts out around 400w or so at 4 ohms bridged, and I'm sure you'd be happy with it.

15" Tempest! $150 from Adire Audio ( i think they are out of stock though ), and an amp that does 500 or so @ 4 ohms. maybe a JL 500.1 if you want to stick with JL. from what i've heard the Tempests have awesome SQ and can get stupid loud in the right box. phrozen5100 has one or two in his van, ask him how he like's 'em.... you might only want to get one though (if you do) because they like boxes around 4 - 5 cubes.

Re: What's up guys, looking into a new system

Yea a tempest would be great from what you talking about. Also check out the brahma from adire. It will get insanely loud and doesn't need as much space As the tempest will. A brahma 15 and an amp that does 1000-1200 watts would be nice (power handling is VERY dependant upon your box when using brahmas). Port it in around 3 cubes net to like 28 hz and it will blow you away.

Re: What's up guys, looking into a new system

so im guessing you guys are big fans of Adire Audio?? man its a big jump in price from the Tempest to the Brahma, but that Brahma looks mean as hell. Ill look into it. I was really more intrested to see what you guys liked amplifier-wise, ones that could be 1-Ohm stable. What brands are you guys fans of?? and what brands do you think i should stay away from?? Hifonics, Audiobahn, etc.

Im also looking into getting a midrange/midbass driver to replace the stock ones in my doors (6.5inch), i dont want a whole component set because my car already has tweeters which sound decent to me. What do you guys recommend?? Oh i won't be amping these just running them off my receiver.

edit: ok i see that Adire has midbass/range 6.5 drivers but im assuming they need to be amplified???? or could i use these with my receiver?

    thanks

Re: What's up guys, looking into a new system

HELL yes a fellow camry driver...im sorry about your stuff getting stolen. ok so far as amps go the elemental designs nine.1 is supose to be stable to 1 ohm and is rated at 1200 watts rms at 1 ohm but they have been benched to put out 1500 watts rms, so a 12" or 15" brahma with a nine.1 should be a very nice match that could get crazy loud when needed. That would run u somewhere between $750 and $900 i think which wouldn't leave u anything for the front stage but its just an option. good luck hope you like whatever you get

Re: What's up guys, looking into a new system

haha yeah the Camry woot woot, hey you should check out www.toyotanation.com ive been a member there for almost 3 years good Toyota info if you ever need it.
i also have been looking at Incriminator Audio which i have noticed some of you have and their Lethal Injection Series prices seem to be a little more in the range that i like.
And truthfully id like to be a little more conservative in building this system than i was when i had my W3, id actually like this system to be more SQ and clean than the W3 was that is why i was thinking of getting 1 or 2 12"s than another 15" but as you can see im ****ing fickle and cant really make up my mind. haha anyway ill keep looking

    thanks guys

Re: What's up guys, looking into a new system

Brahma 15 and the nine.1 would realllllyyyyy nice. For your doors a nice 6.5 in component set is the way to go and you will definately want to have an amp for it so it can keep up w/ the sub.

I know, its a shame because they were some clean solid amps that put out way over the ratted power, JMAC might have a birthsheet
