alright, I have put in many head units in cars and have never had a problem until now.
I'm trying to install a H/U in a 2000 focus ZX3. The problem is I can't find a wiring harness that fits.
The focus has 3 plugs that plug into the radio.
1. one for the speakers
2. one for the power
3. I don't know what this one is for it has one wire that is blue and white and just plugs into the stock H/U.
My problem is that I have tried 2 harness already. Neither one worked.
The one that is closest says 1986 and up ford harness.
It has one black and one gray connector.
I tried to hook it up and only the black one will fit which is the speaker wires. The gray one (which is the power wires) won't fit because it is too big and won't connect to the factory harness in the car.
Has anyone put a deck in a 2000 focus. It can't be this difficult, I don't want to cut the harnesses all up because I would like to be able to put the factory radio back in easily when she decides to sell the car.
Maybe someone could post a link to the right part number or something. I checked crutchfield and the harness they list looks like the one I have but for some reason the gray part is too big and won't match to the factory harness.
