    Icon32 Battery / Alt question

I have a 2001 grand am 4 door SE. Im going to be installing 2 kicker 12" L7s with a hifonics amp. I am almost certin that my headlights will dim and the subs will end up draining my battery to fast. I was thinking about buying a yellow top battery thing. but would my alt not be strong enough to keep a deep cycle battery powered? I thought about getting a cap but I know all that dose is strain your system and i dont want to buy a new alt eather. Would it be ok for me to just get a yellow top or a diffrent deep cycle battery? what do yall recomend?

    Re: Battery / Alt question

buying a battery (yellowtop) is a great idea but is only good for when your car is off. When your car is on your battery doesn't do a thing! All the power comes from your alt. if your lights dim, try upgrading your wires conecting from the alt. to the battery and the battery ground to chassis. This is cheap and easy to do.
