    Help/Opinions Please

What I want to know is would it be better to use two L5 subs at 2 ohms instead of 4 and why? also I would like to know if I did go with the Kicker L5's at 4 ohms instead of 2 ohms if the amp being short 100 watts rms would still be enough to get a nice sound.... I am open to suggestions money is an issue though. I allready bought a box for the kicker's so that is what I am going to go with but I am not sure about the amp.

This is what I plan on using

Lanzar VIBE268 2000 Watt 2 Channel High Power MOSFET Amplifier

    2 x 500 Watts RMS at 4 Ohms
    2 x 1000 Watts Max at 4 Ohms
    1 x 2000 Watts Max at 4 Ohms Bridged
    2 x 800 Watts at 2 Ohms
    Electronic Crossover Network
    Bass Boost Circuit
    Bridgeable at 4 Ohms
    2 Ohms Stereo Stable
    Tri-Mode Capable
    Gold RCA Inputs
Line Outs For Left & Right Channels.
    Power & Protection LED Indicators
    Advanced Protection Circuitry
    Soft Turn On/Off
    Remote Control Bass Booster
    Frequency Response: 15 Hz - 35 kHz
    S/N ratio: 90dB
    Dimensions (W x H x L): 11.5" x 2.3" x 19"

    2x Kicker Solo-Baric L5 S12L5

    copolymer cone
    Santoprene rubber surround
dual 4-ohm voice coils for wiring flexibility
    frequency response 20-100 Hz
power range 50-600 watts RMS (300 watts per coil)
    peak power handling 1,200 watts
    sensitivity 87.3 dB SPL
    top-mount depth 6-5/16"
sealed box volume 0.88-2.0 cubic feet
ported box volume 1.75-3.25 cubic feet

I drive a 97' Mercury Grand Marquies LS with leather seats so im worried that the sound will not make it into the car as well as it should.

    1. Welcome
    2. How much is the lanzar ?
    3. Ohms depend on the VC's set up. One is no better then the other.
You usually get an amp, then pics the VC for the subs to get maximum wattage

You must select the proper woofers(ohms) for the amp. They must work together to get the most out of you set up. For instance. I run a amp that is 1000 watts@1 ohm and the amp is 1 ohm stable. I have a dual voice coil sub. each v.coil is 2ohms. If you paralel the v.coils, that makes 1 ohm. If i used a dual 4ohm sub par. then the sub would recieve about 1/2 the power(500watts). If this doesn't make sence to you you should go to someone you know that can show you on paper. Or you can find a link. Rochford fosgate has good wiring diagrams on their site.

    good luck

    Re: Help/Opinions Please

Well ive never owned a system and dont know very much about them but if somone could break down how I should wire the L5's up and if they would work good with the lanzar amp if they will have enough power, if I will need somthing else along with the subs and the amp such as a capacitor or somthing like that, what size wire I should use

Also im looking to get my HU installed but I want it profesionally done with the pocket and what not and have them run the wires to the back to feed the amp. If its too pricey I will probably just try to do it myself, I would hate to mess up though..

runun them at 4ohms would be good, if you get the dual2vc you could get a 4ohm load and 500 to each would push them good.
