Icon30 What do you think about my system plans??

    Vehicle:
    2001 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 Extended-Cab

    Headunit:
    Clarion VRX935VD In-Dash DVD, $1,199.00

    Front Stage:
    Focal 165K 6.5” Component Set, $319.00

    Front Stage Amp:
    Alpine MRV-T420 110x2 @ 4ohm, $199.00

    Rear Fill:
    Focal 100CA 4” 2-way coaxial, $109.00

    Rear Fill Amp:
    None, powered by h/u @ 18W RMS

    Box:
    Single 10" ported

    Subwoofer:
    Adire Koda 10, $229.00

    Subwoofer Amp:
    Alpine MRV-T420 340x1 bridged @ 4ohm, $199.00

    Interconnect:
(Front Stage Amp) StreetWires Zero Noise 3 Interconnect
(Subwoofer Amp) Lanzar Interconnect (inexpensive, comes with amp kit)

    Amp Installation Kit:
    Lanzar LQ43 - 4 gauge amp installation kit, $36.99

Total: $2,377.96. My goal is maximum SQ for the least amount of mulah (isn't that everyone's goal??). I believe from all of the forums, newsgroups and magazine articles I've read, I've made some good choices. The type of music I typically listen to is Beastie Boys and the like. Their music has an equal balance of highs & lows, whereas most rap consists of mostly lows. I also dabble into rock/pop/R&B, etc.

I have been researching for about a month now and I've got a couple of weeks until I place my order. Most of the above will be purchased from www.onlinecarstereo.com all with free shipping.

Thanks for any comments/suggestions/advice you can provide me. I also appreciate all of your help which brought me to some of these decisions.

    -Cory

not to bad of a setup at all. make sure you tune the box low though so you can get all the low end sq out of the koda. if you want to save a little more money look into a regular H/U instead of an indash. but if you want to watch a little koda pr0n on the indash then hey do what you gotta do

    back at it...

Looks real good, its nice to see some products that this entire forum doesn't use. Are you putting the comps in kicks? or the door panel? Those koda's are supposed to rock as well. Good luck to you, and give us pics.

Oh I'm pretty dead-set on the in-dash DVD unit, I researched that more than anything else. Here is the actual unit I am getting for an incredible price!

    nosaj070:
I plan on putting them into the door panels for now. If I like how they sound I will keep them there. Plus I'm dropping a lot of cash now, so I would need to wait on something additional. Who knows what will happen down the road though, the sky is the limit...

Does anyone have any experience with TV Tuners and their reception?? I was curious about adding a TV Tuner to the in-dash unit for those times when I didn't want to watch a DVD.
