I would turn the subs back around for one thing....you don't want gravity working against you. Try porting the box...or just make a better one...I'm assuming the one you have is prefabricated. Build one that is around 2 cubic feet each woofer, tuned around 34 hertz.

Re: My 2 type R system help! PLEASE!

If he has the subs with the cone facing down, gravity is acting against his woofers, in the sense that they would reach their mechanical peak sooner than if they were mounted horizontally. If they were mounted with the cone facing up, gravity would be working against them in terms of output.....

I personally would rather have my subs at a small lack of output, than at a small risk of mechanical failure. But, if the woofers have as much compliance as you say, he probably has nothing to worry about.

Re: My 2 type R system help! PLEASE!

thank you for your quick replies if i were to port them could i use the same box? but if he stated i need at least 2 cu ft, shouldnt i build a bigger box? but remember my box width cannot be bigger then 29.5 inches

and if i were to lay them flat so that the cone were facing the license plate and by putting the magnet in the sealed box would i get a better performence?
