Noob truck owner looking to install system.

Im looking to put a system in my 97 Dodge 1500 2dr. It fits a pair of 6x9s, 5.25s and more than enough room for 2 big subs.

My main question is what brand should I install? Im pretty intent on installing all one brand. Ive shoped around alot and im pretty sure I want Pioneer because its cheaper than some and gets high reviews.

The head unit I want puts out 50wattsx4, which is the exact RMS, or under the RMS of all all the speakers. It has a pre-amp. I would get a 200watt amp to power 2 10'' subs. (yes underpowered, but im not a niger guys...).

What do yall think? I want a cheap, yet complete and reliable system.

    COME ON NOW

i'd suggest 5 1/4 components for the front..in that truck or any car for that matter u dont need back speaks if the ones in front are good enough..

for a amp maybe look into a 3 channel amp...2 chanles for you fronts and a channel for your sub(s)

others will chime in and tell u to get cdt(comps) or sumtin so expect that..

I ama truck owner as well. Look at my signature...

I will recommend that you get only front component speakers, because in a truck, rear ones are not really needed. The area is so small, that rear fill will be muddy and useless.

What's your budget? Sometimes it's better to get just one good sub.

Re: Noob truck owner looking to install system.

I have 3 JL 10W6s and a 1200 watt amp that were in my Acura. I also had Clarion and Pioneer highs and mids but left those in the car when I got rid of it. (still have the subs and amps and everything though). I now have a standard cab '95 Ranger that I'm getting ready to start building a box for my subs to go in. it'll certainly be a project, but I'm willing to take the time to do it :P

:edit: I hit 145 dB in the Acura with a box that wasn't completely sealed all the way around, uncarpeted, untuned, and with crappy highs/mids. not too bad..if anybody wants or knows anybody that wants a box, let me know..I'm gonna sell the one I had in the Integra...

like someone said before u dont need rear speakers... i got a dakota and i cant even hear my rear speakers, just get some good door speakers and you only got 5.25 in the doors or what? cuz my rears are 5.25 and my doors are 6.5s, ive found that a single 12 works really well in a reg cab truck, or like 2 10s but ive always just went with a single 12
