600 Watts RMS into an 800 Watts RMS sub?

Hey im leaning towards getting a Audiobahn Dub 15" DVC (dual 4 ohm) subwoofer soon...and its rated at 800 Watts RMS. The Amp im gettin does 300x2 at 2 ohms, so i could get 600 into it. Would this make it sound bad, or weak? also does anyone have any experience with this sub?
    thanks

no sub "wants" power, it reacts to what is fed to it.

sending it a weak yet clean signal will cause no harm

its rms rating i believe is what it can handle thermally continuous, correct me if im wrong

Just be sure the amp you are looking at getting is 2ohm bridged stable.
