Would this HU work well with these Speakers?

I already have a head unit which is a Pionner DEH 4600 - http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=13608 - and I was wanting to know if it would work well with these speakers. My HU only puts out only 22 Watts RMS per channel, and the Pionner 6x9s are 40Watts RMS...sooo...opinions?

Any HU (within reason) will sound decent with co-axials as long as you use the volume knob responsibly.

Ok and im guessing these speakers are co-axial? I just thought if i got speakers with too high of an RMS, that they would blow or just sound distorted....idk.

They will only distort if you turn up the volume too high. You can give a speaker .000000001 Watt, but as long as you are nice to the volume control, it will not distort.

Re: Would this HU work well with these Speakers?

I'm using 6.75" Infinity Kappa's rated at 75W RMS. They sound pretty good off the HU with only 23W, but they'd be a hell of a lot better with an amp. ***** to know that I'm not even close to their potential.

i dont know why , but when u send power to speakers from an AMP, even if u r giving each 50w rms. SQ is way better, even at low vol ( i know that amps are made , to go to high vol. without losing SQ) any ideas, because it really sound different

Because that 50w is about 5 times more than what your headunit is giving the speakers. Even if your headunit is "rated" 25w, it is highly unlikely you are getting more than 10-15w out of it.

external amplifiers have alot more technology in them then your hu's onboard amplifier. I'm willing to bet the signal is a lil cleaner and less distorted coming out of the external amp.

IMO this is one of the reasons hu's really shouldnt be clogged up with internal amps and such... let them handle the signal work, thats why we buy them. But, I'm crazy.
