voltage drop question

I recently just acquired my 2 12'' Adire Shiva MkIV and noticed a problem when I finally got them hooked up.

It seems I have quite a bit of voltage drop at high volume and long bass lines.
I took my car to an alternator shop to see if it was the problem, and we did a bit of voltage testing while it was playing.

When we tested at the amp, the voltage would bounce from 14.x to low 13's and even high 12's.

Im kinda pissed about this because without 14.4 V my amp wont achieve its dynamic power of 775wrms @ 2ohms. (MTX Thunder6500D amplifier)

Anyone got some suggestions as to help fix/reduce my voltage drop without a new alternator or battery?

What kind of car is it? Because with mine even after the big 3 upgrade I had a noticeable voltage drop. With some cars it cant be avoided. But try what JMAC said its where you need to start.

Upgrade the Big 3 ...

Battery to chassis
Battery to alternator
Alternator to chassis

Ya, i heard about doing this. Again, I asked the alternator shop and he said my battery to chassis is fine (2 awg and its really short), but the battery to alternator is really long, and seems kinda thin.

Can I just go directly from my battery to alternator? Its like no more then a foot away from my battery, yet the wire for it goes all over the place first. Can I just add on another wire, or do I have to remove the previous one? Also, what AWG would you recommend?

The can is a 1990 Honda Accord.

You can just add another wire ... Fuse it

I did my big3 with 1/0ga....

even though I'm only running about 620watts rms...
