Hi all. I'm just getting started on upgrading the audio on my 97 Altima GXE, and having been sent this way b one of the helpful guys on the other forum, I thought I'd post my setup idea and see what y'all think. Just to answer a few preliminary questions... Yes, I am including a rear stage, because I am a classical musician and am very used to having sound all around me. Also, I often travel with passengers, and I like for them to enjoy the same level of sound as I do. I listen to an extreme variety of music, from classical to rock to techno to just about anything else, so I want a versatile system that can handle anything with equal aplomb. Finally, being a college student, I want the best quality for the least amount of money, but I don't have a problem paying for the best. So, without further ado, here's the setup:
Head Unit: Eclipse CD5444
Front Speakers: Pair of Diamond Audio HEX S500s and 6.0mx3 (midrange mounted in doors, midbass and tweeters in custom kickpanels) Components
Rear Speakers: Pair of Diamond Audio HEX S600s Components (in custom rear enclosure)
Amplifier: Memphis Audio Memphis Belle MC1300D Amp
Subwoofer: Diamond Audio TDX 12D4 12" Sub (In custom enclosure)
The guy that's doing the install is doing everything in 4ohm wire, and is wiring everything to the amp and then out to the HU. All told, including all parts and installation, it'll be somewhere in the neighboorhood of $2500-$3000, depending on what kind of deal I can get on the Eclipse and the Diamonds. So, let me know what you think!
