OKAY so I go and get some wood to make my very first custom box.... and im all excited i go into home depot and im like can i get some wood cut,, and he was like yes,,, but everything after 4 cuts is 35 cents a cut.. im like ehhhh okay i quess since i really didnt want to get saw dust all over my garage anyways...... okay so i give him measurements and he cuts them... he makes about 4 mistakes, and was like hey man, sorry but you have to get another piece because i cut this one wrong so you have to get another board.. im like " it was your mistake right" he said yea im new here,, so just go get another board and i wont charge you for the cuts.. im like okay cool.... so that equals 17 dollars for 4x8 sheet and 6 dollars for smaller sheet which i dont know excact lenght off... but i get home,,, and everything is going good untill i go to put the sides on... THEY ARE ABOUT 4 INCHES TO LONG,,,, and the inside port pieces need to be 3 inches by 15.5

he made those about 4 inches by 22 inches..... so i mean,,,how do these retards get jobs????? is there training at these places.....
luckely i have circular saw laying around..... but this is just a tip for everyone in near future,,, CUT YOUR OWN ****EN WOOD....... YOU WILL BE HAPPIER :readytogo :readytogo :readytogo :readytogo :readytogo :readytogo :readytogo :readytogo

Rona seems to have a lot of problems understanding you have to take cutting blade width into consideration when making cuts Bastards take forever to cut my stuff and mess up a lot. Retards I am going back to doing it from now on. Good thing I stole a tapemeasure to make it worth my while when I was there last :P

even the biggest dado's out there aren't four inches wide, and certainly not the blades on panel saws. that guy simply had no awareness...which says something working in a lumber section :/

I made sure all my pieces fit together before I left Home Depot, it was a pretty good fit. What did these Home Depots use to cut your MDF? Mine had this kinda funky setup with a circular saw on some roller things to they could either rip the board or cut it to length.

Thanks, helo, I appreciate the offer, but I have all the own tools, but for $2.00 at Rona it's much easier to get them all to cut it instead of having to get my garage all messy and get out my tools then clean them afterwards, etc. Maybe if I ever need some routering done though, I will give ya a shout.

When I buy stuff for my boxes I usually figure out how each piece will be cut from the 4x8 sheet ahead of time to minimize waste.

And also because I dont have a trailer to move the whole sheet I figure out the lengths I need the sheet cut to. Usually in 3 pieces of 32." As the panels I need are about 30" long, this gives me some leeway.

And in about 10+ different instances, they have NEVER made the cut correctly. They are always off by 1/4" or more!! I mean how freakin hard is it to cut it exactly?? Thankfully, I just slice off that extra 2" perfectly the first time...

I've had my wood cut at Home Depot several times, and there has only been one small mistake of maybe 1/8" or so.
