Need High Power Head Unit Suggestions

I'm planning to power my factory speakers with the head unit and bypass the factory amp (Dodge Durango). My friend has recommended Alpine head units for this purpose. Any other brands I should consider with very clean high power outputs? Are Eclipse decks as good as Alpine?

    Thanks.

paisonic has 60Wrms x 4. but you still need to hook up seperate power. my bottom of the line blaupunkt is 23Wrms x4 and it pumps out the bass.

Less wiring to run behind panels for one. I'll just bypass the factory amp, cut the output wires, and splice to the input wires coming from the deck. Seems like a whole lot less work than running speaker wires and RCA's from and running power and remote to the amp.

true, but you're only talking about maybe 10-15 watts RMS, those numbers usually quoted on head units are optimistic peak numbers, if that.

and a lot of those so called "high power" head units need an external power wire run to them anyway...so it isn't that much of a step from there to installing a small amp.
