Right...2 ohm DVC subs can only be wired at one or four ohms (with one driver). Since that amp isn't stable at 1 ohm, you're going to be stuck at 4.

Go ahead and check your impedance with a DMM. You're either running at 1 ohm or you're only running one of your coils. Either case = no bueno.

Using both of your coils is basically using your sub to it's full potential. Wiring to four ohms would reduce the power your amp will be able to send to your subwoofer, but at least then you'll be running it the way it was designed to operate.

Re: 2 ohm vs 4 ohm

So you're sending 250w (probably a bit more) to only 1 coil on a sub that's rated at 250? How long have you been running it this way?

Re: 2 ohm vs 4 ohm

i am sure it is, b/c i set my gains with a cd which was 4v and then i mainly play my music through the aux port which is about 2v so i do not get much voltage with aux, i tested using a Oscope and not getting much voltage to hurt anything, but i am going to re wire tomorrow and reset my gains, will it make my sub sound any better?
