Icon33 72" Bass Cannon- Built by University of Wisconsin PhD students

Alright everyone, prepare yourselves. This thing is ******. Leave it to some fellow Wisconsinites to make a 6 foot "bass cannon" and find the resonant frequency of the building they were in. According to the article, peak power draw was somewhere around 6000W. Who wants to make one with me and put it in a semi trailer?

Ah, yes, the jackhammer. Cool stuff I just like the fact that some college students from Wisconsin built that. I wanna take a road trip down to see it, if I had the time I totally would. It's a good 3 hour drive one way to get to Madison.

Mtx made a woofer much larger than the jack hammer. Wasn't so much mtx made as it was sponsored. The second pic posted is the back of it but the first one posted is something different. I believe it was 60 inches and was a lot tougher than the one those students built. Would have never fit into a box only two feet deep. The first time they used it the vehicle it was in was severely damaged. It was built into another truck and was never really used much after that. I actually had the pleasure of seeing it in action one year at db drag finals and well I have never seen anything like that. I thought the cab was going to explode. I know Richard Clark had a hand in building that beast.

That's pretty impressive, I wish I could see some stuff like that. It says they were working with a limited budget, I'd be interested to see what they could build with more money.

I am not even sure that is really a sub. If you look along the sides of it you will see it is lined with amplifiers. That thing would obviously have to go inside that enclosure for that hatch to shut as well. I think its just a bad *** amp rack.
