I need a solution. BAD
I have been searching and searching for a solution to this problem so maybe someone on here can throw some advice my way. My vehicle has one aux input to the speakers. I would like to connect my incar laptop and smart phone to my vehicles speakers but have the phones audio override anything that is playing on the laptop. (example:: pandora streaming on the laptop, automatic switch to the phone when it receives a call.) Any help would be appreciated.

Re: I need a solution. BAD
This may sound a bit obvious but is there anyway to turn the blue tooth off on your phone when you don't want it to override your system. Another option might be to call the dealership to see if they have a solution for you. And lastly buy a new head unit if it comes down to it. If this didn't help I'm sorry and good luck!

Re: I need a solution. BAD
My apologies. I didn't specify what I was getting at. I want to connect both 3.5mm inputs one from the smartphone and one from the laptop to the aux port in the car. Having one input be able to override the other when a signal is sent to it.

Can't use a splitter for inputs unless you want to fry your gear

Re: I need a solution. BAD
This is impossible with an analog in. It would have to be digital to understand when to override. Maybe a circuit if some sort that prefers the phone input if it sees any signal from that side.
Stupid Loud.

Re: I need a solution. BAD
Why not use the laptop as a phone. A Magic Jack, or maybe a Google Voice number would let that work. Still not sure if it would automatically switch or not.

Re: I need a solution. BAD
This is the only thing I could find along the lines of what I want to accomplish. But for 160 stones id rather unplug and plug the aux cable from laptop to smartphone. http://www.mixitproducts.com/index.php

Re: I need a solution. BAD
I just found out from looking around my laptop that it is bluetooth enabled. Im a police officer and I know I cannot install something like the parrot unit in the vehicle but is there a bluetooth solution to my problem?
