lots of port noise. help please
Like the title says I have quite a bit of port noise. My box is built by double 07 for four 8's under the seat of my crew cab. The box is around 2.5 cubes tuned to 35hz. The noise is very muffled at high volumes and honesty sounds like crap. Any suggestions on a solution or should I just build a new box maybe with aeros instead of the slot port?
Re: lots of port noise. help please
Im wandering if thats what kerf ports eliminate. My previous box had heavy port noise with a reg l port.

Port area is too small for 4 8s your gonna need at least 2 5" aero ports.
Re: lots of port noise. help please
How big is your port? Height, width and length.
Re: lots of port noise. help please
Please post pics of the enclosure.
Re: lots of port noise. help please
I just looked at one of your video's on here. You show a port on the passenger side..is that the only port? Even if not, that looks like it is on the small side of things.
Re: lots of port noise. help please
have you tried talking to double07 about it?
Re: lots of port noise. help please
I just pulled the sheet on your enclosure...it has the most port area I could get @ 13" per cube without shrinking the net of the box down further....It has dual ports...here are some pics and the port mouths are flared a little as well.......My question is did the noise just start or has it been there all along...I haven't heard anything from you...I am sorry you are having problems...

Re: lots of port noise. help please
I didn't notice it at first. Seems like it started in the last week.. My output send to have dropped a bit also
Re: lots of port noise. help please
Then it's not port noise.
Re: lots of port noise. help please
With loss of output you may have a sub out....we can entertain getting more port area on a new box but you will have to do some custom seat mounts and raise that seat a little....because your current enclosure is as big as we could get it....we will get it figured out...

x2 port noise does not suddenly appear unless the box developed major air leaks and thats unlikely if it was professionally built by double07
Re: lots of port noise. help please
All subs seem to be working, I'll have to double check though. Thanks for the help guys. @double 07 what if we went 2-2.3 cubes net and more port?
Re: lots of port noise. help please
That wouldn't net you much more port area....it would be nice if the box could grow a little to allow the net to stay there or go up a little as well.......I will look at the box pics and dems again tomorrow....

I modified my seats so I could fold the backs down. I can't lift them at all cause I cut the brackets to the seats to clear the hooks and fold forward so i could access my amp easily. I think 2 cubes with a lot if port will work well with these subs. One guy on here was busting 150's with same setup in 2 cubes with 8" sonotube
