Get yourself some 3" thick walled square tubing and build a seat lift.
That's what I do here at the shop.
You can get ALOT more room under those seats!!!!
If you cut the tabs off your seats, just weld up some new ones.

In your first post, OP, You said this box was for 4 sa 8's?
The pics 007 posted show only two sub holes.
Just noticed that and figured I'd point it out.
In the process of being installed:
(2) DC-Level 3's
Kicker ZX2500.1
(2) Kinetik 2400
Optima YT under the hood
240amp Mechman alt
Big Three in 1/0 Monster
4 Runs Knu KCA 1/0 front to back
8" Aero by Psychoacoustics
2008 Volkswagen Jetta S
I think it was designed for 4, but only two were used at first was the case.
OP- If it "just started" then it will not likely be port noise. Unless it started when you added the second two subs..then that would make since.
Those seats can be lifted, its a bit of a pita but it can be done and it helps with enclosure volume, typically allows for more volume and port area...netting better results then what you currently have.
double 07 thanked for this post
If the noise just started all of a sudden IMO its not the port its something else. On my old setup I had a stripped screw securing the sub and it came out and the sub was making some extra noise (rattle and hissing) this was a sealed box tho. IMO pull the subs check them and remount.

It was built for all 4 subs issue here here Scott is you need more internal area to get more port area which means you'll have to raise that seat no way around it. If you still want to use the seat. Sounds like you are looking for a spl box not a musical box a burp box can get you a 150. But a box for 8s on music will be very hard to get what you want Db wise from under that seat with out mods. Also you won't drop output level all of a sudden like you said ,something happened somewhere you need to check each subs coils may be burned a coil with the power your running

Yes the enclosure was designed for 4 subs originally...He only had two of them at the time I sent him the enclosure. I would pull subs and check for a leak somewhere..If it's doing it at high volumes that what it sounds like it could be. It might not hurt to pull subs and resin the inside of enclosure a little. You should be able to get most of it through the sub cutouts. It definitely wouldn't hurt the enclosure with the power you are running.
It's the FINAL COUNTDOWN!!!!!!!
Okay, I am about to remove the subs and inspect the box for any leaks etc.. I will let you know what I find asap

Well all the subs seemed to be fine except one had a terminal nut loose so I tightened it and reinstalled the subs. Also I mixed the subs up so there is one sub that is a couple weeks old and one that's a month and a half old on each side. I previously had the two that were broken in on one side and the other two new ones on the other side. I wonder if that had anything to do with it also?
There were no leaks I noticed so I hooked them all back up and it seems to have helped a little bit. There is still some port noise, Im really thinking i just need more port area. I'm going to meet with one of Vegas' local car audio gurus on Monday to see what he thinks..
