    Icon32 Insight to a wall?

I plan on doing a c pillar wall in my grand cherokee an this is the first wall I have ever done so please don't give me crap we all start some where.

How important is port placement when it comes to a wall. I know a c pillar wall isn't really enough room for some subs but that just depends on the sub/subs and how much room you actually have to work with. Now my daughter sits behind the driver seat an I can fold the back seats down when she is not in the car.

But what are the pros an cons to having the port on the driver side, passenger side, across the top, in the middle, one on each side, an what about about using slot ports compared to areo ports.

    Re: Insight to a wall?

port placement will affect where the pressure will build the most in the vehicle. now, I am assuming that this will be for daily... if so, I would go with 3 15s, and 6 6 inch aeros.... just look up mike hughes c pillar wall and you will see what I am talking about.

Actually yes this will be for daily and the subs are 3 SA 15s on 1 or 2 crescendo 3kwps. I know I have seen most do drivers side but why. I was thinking doing across the top so I wouldn't have to fold down my seats an not choke the port but I want will give me the most output.

I dont think he has enough space for 4... especially with a slot port.

If you care about metering different port locations will effect metering. Typically porting behind the drivers side is optimum for metering DB-Drag style and porting up top is optimum for measuing at the kickpanel.

Shouldn't matter at all for daily..... I'd go above the back seat somewhere if you plan to have passangers.

Correct even with it being the SA line I don't think I have enough for four. I could try 4 12s but I don't really like using anything smaller then a 15". An I'm not sure if were gonna use a slot or areos but I prefer aeros to save on space.

Hey bro how ya been been a long time. Well most of the time I just have me an my daughter an maybe one extra person but I know once I get it built I'll probably have more people wanting to ride with me lol. For me I'm not a big competitor yet I'm not at that stage of my audio level but I do compete from time to time and besides if I do compete I don't really care if I win or lose I'll build something how I want an if it does great on a meter that's good if not that's still ok because it will still be loud as bananas.

I was just wonderin how the port placement affects the overall output. Like is it gonna be louder on the drivers side compared to across the top, or in the middle compared to the driver side etc.

Ok well maybe to you but this is my daily driver an like it says in my first post I need the driver side seat for my daughter if I had a second vehicle it wouldn't be a problem an I would do 4 or more in b pillar wall.

But my daughter comes first so I need to keep at lease one seat back there

I don't think you should notice an audible difference sitting in it whichever way you go. You will notice a difference on the meter just because of the way the sound waves hit the sensor wherever that is.

I definitely wouldn't do aero's. DO a big slot port.

Then wait until you're in a position to do it right, like getting a 2nd car...
