Audio system help for Civic Si
Hello guy's, I just needed some help with finding the right amp or amps for these 2 subwoofers that I wanted to buy, I was looking into getting the 2x Alpine Type R 12 SWR-12D4's, Now I'm pretty much a complete noob at all this but I was wondering if you guys can just point me in the right direction, I've heard really good things about these 2 subs and I heard they POUND *even setting off car alarms? is that true?* and thats why id like to get these. What amp or amps should I look at getting? Also I want to run this with my stock premium sound system. Is that okay? I really hate the look of any aftermarket deck so yeah. Any help? Also since I'll be using my stock sound system should I get one of those digital converters? To make it "sound" better and "clearer"?

Re: Audio system help for Civic Si
i have the 2012 alpine type r subs the 10 inch version (10d4) and ive set off plenty of car alarms before. best subs ive owned and sound ******* great!
if your getting two of em get the crescendo bc2000, its what i have in my car and its a perfect match, amp puts out clean power and never gets remotely hot at all!
and yes get the audiocontrol lc2i digital sound processor, tap into rear speakers and done deal!

Hello,
what kind of budget are you working with here?
those type R's are definitely decent subs but better can be had, obviously, if the money is there.
What are your overall goals you hope to achieve with your subs?

Didn't realize you could get them that cheap. They are definitely wonderful subs man, I've run multiple sets of them.
How are those new R's holding up to 1000 rms daily?

Man, they've been wonderful!! I have the crescndo bc2k and running on about 1600 watts rms so around 800 rms each, my electrical isn't upgraded so I'm not pushing it to full potential. But they sound really **** good!
I bought my subs from onlinecarstereo.com for 280 shipped for both back when they were first released

**** man that's a hell of a good deal for two of em brand new, new model series too. I know they used to charge like 250$ a piece at best buy when they carried alpine.
I gotcha though, i'm sure that 800 rms is plenty to get them R's movin. I love the way they sound, they have such a warm solid sound to them.

Re: Audio system help for Civic Si
Thanks for the responses guys, and only 2 10's and you've set off car alarms O_O? So would 12's be even crazier? And yeah like $160 for a brand new sub is what I can afford right now lol it seems like a good price to me. I'm getting 2 of them from sonicelectronics as well. What digital sound processors do you guys recommend ? And what about alpine ? Is really like to stick to a all alpine set up so which Amos should I get?
