Why are my HID headlights blinking?

They only blink when the sub hits but my voltage isn't even dropping below 14 volts.
    How can I fix this?

From what I have heard HID lights don't dim they just shut off which is why they seem to blink.

They probably have a loose connection to the ballast

Cheap HIDs... Get a relay kit though.

Still happening after a relay kit throw them away and do a projector retrofit and run some morimoto bulbs and ballast.

Loose connection? Where are you measuring voltage from, and with what?

hah no not the eBay headlights...the projector housings are from ebay but as far as I could tell they only make a couple different housings for the cobalt so I just went with the cheapest price on those. I can't remember where I got the ballasts/bulbs from but they are similar to the ddm's.
and I'm measuring voltage right from the battery the amps are connected to, the bt100.
I also have a cigarette lighter one upfront that's reading above 14 as well

Are any other lights blinking, or is it only your HID headlights? And when you say blinking, do you mean completely shutting off and then back on, or just dimming?

Umnitza has great products as far as headlights , hids, retrofits and most relay kits are basically the same and should cost around 15$

I haven't noticed any other lights dimming but I will check tomorrow
any yea they blink, I read HIDs don't dim they just shut off for a split second because they burn a gas instead of a regular filament
to me it seems like some type of power issue

If they are the only lights doing it, I would look directly at a connection issue.

Re: Why are my HID headlights blinking?

if you have ballasts and lights that resemble ddm then they might as well be ebay brand. i just went through that stage...now im switching to morimotos.

    Things to look forward to:
    (2) 10" or 12" imperium audio designs subs
set of PHD MF 6.5" comps
Completely seal off and deaden my doors
    aquire a 2k amp
aquire a 2 channel amp for front stage
