Got my Tenney 300 amp alternator today! She sure is purdy!

nice but be careful anything over 15.2 can mess up your ecu

ill jus keep it at 15 then no biggy . i wana stay above 14 @full tilt shouldnt be a prob with mechman 270 and 290ah worth of batts

My truck (NBS GM) has a stupid feature that cuts the alt to save gas. When it does this the volts drop to 13.5 or so. I am sure it will still do this when I put the tenney in. If I am not happy with the performance I will add the external reg. Just su cks that the bat light will be on all the time with the external alt. Little things like that (bat light always on) will get on my nerves so I am going to try without the ext reg. When I am at shows I will be competing and demoing right after I turn the truck on and at that time it is always above 14.4 volts.

yea my car has same **** cuts 3 cylinders down to save fuel drops to 13.1 ur gona need ext regulator to remedy it...fvck that light lol

It doesn't always cut the volts when it switches to 4 cylinders from 8. But it will just cut volts at random times. I don't get why it decides now is a good time to cut the alt.. How much gas could this really save??

not much at all sometimes i drop anywhere from 13.8 -13.1 ..thanks gm...ext regulator will take care of it

I just got mine too. He made an alt for me that no one else would. Got a 180a for my Suzuki Esteem Wagon(wife's car) lol. I'm pretty happy with it. I can play into the 147's and not drop below 13v.

I disliked this cause he won't make a 270 for my car while singer and mechman and dc power does.

I used to run mine at 15.2, but it set off my check engine light so now i run at 14.8 zero problems since.
